Spring Fever

Those who have not yet travelled further south than Rome will discover a new Italy, perhaps the „real“ Italy, in Calabria. This trip is will show you the Mediterranean nature of Calabria, which is diverse and unsurpassed in spring. Explore the nearby surroundings, mountains and sea, but also culinary delights and pleasures – from hikes, market visits, foraging for herbs and shared breakfasts to cooking a 4-course meal, and of course free time is included!
We will stay in the small, charming village of Isca sullo Ionio, in a family-run B&B and explore the area around the mountain village. We visit small, picturesque villages in the nearby surroundings and a little further afield, produce various delicacies such as: Limoncello, olive leaf tincture, jam, bread, marigold ointment, sweets, etc.; cook together with local and especially regional products, go hiking and learn about the region, its customs and – above all – the Calabrian way of life.
Experience Calabria in Autumn

This trip is not about sightseeing, but about lifestyle, slowing down, meeting new people and having a relaxing time. Those who have not yet travelled further south than Rome will discover a new Italy, perhaps the „real“ Italy, in Calabria. In our entertaining, exciting and unique programme, you will discover the southern Italian way of life and forget the stresses of your everyday life. Calabria is wonderful! It combines mountains and sea and is mostly unknown to many northerners. As soon as you are there, you will feel better; or, as the Calabrese say, once you have been there, you will always want to come again.
We will stay in the small, charming village of Isca sullo Ionio, in a family B&B and explore the area around the mountain village. We visit small, picturesque villages in the area, harvest olives, pickle them and press oil, produce various small delicacies such as: Limoncello and Mediterranean herb liqueur, jams, bread, sweets, etc.; experience first-hand the traditional production of Pecorino and Ricotta cheeses, cook together using local and regional products and learn about the customs of the region and the Calabrian way of life.

Learn while travelling! Get to know and love the country and its people in a completely different way. If you’ve always wanted to learn Italian, you’ve come to the right place: we combine theory with practice and apply your newly acquired knowledge in everyday life. The varied and exciting lessons are taught by Dr. Emanuele Spedicato from Rome, who has been teaching his mother tongue for 7 years.
We will stay in the small, charming village of Isca sullo Ionio, in a family-run B&B and explore the area around the mountain village. We shop at the local market, order our own food at the restaurant, talk to the locals, visit the shepherd and experience the traditional production of Pecorino and Ricotta cheeses, cook together using local products and learn about the customs of the region and the Calabrian way of life.
Discoveries
Historical, modern or culinary, be present at the olive harvest, spend an unforgettable day with the shepherd, conjure up a Calabrian menu of 4 courses, observe Ricotta production, make pasta according to grandmother’s recipe, go foraging for herbs, brunch with friends or a picnic on the beach… nothing is impossible!

Those who would prefer to explore the area around Isca Sullo Ionio, but prefer company, can take part in an organised trip with 4-5 people, or 4 couples (max. 8 people).
Everything can be organised and carried out in a group or individually with a minimum of 4 people. Should the intended travel times conflict with your personal travel plans, I will certainly try to find an individual solution for this as well.
I am also happy to assist with general travel arrangements, such as booking flights, picking up rental cars, finding accommodation, or transfers from Lamezia Terme airport to Isca Sullo Ionio or nearby.
